Developing cross platform mobile applications, with React Native, for the company.

At Granular IT, I mainly worked with Amazon Cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build and migrate an events booking system for medical professionals (The Corpus - https://www.the-corpus.com), until when I was laid off, because of COVID19 knock off effects on the client’s finances. I was informed by my boss that the client doesn’t have the funds to support, going forward, the project, and the project was shelved, and I was let go. While at Granular IT, I also worked on other projects, such as, with Shopify, managing and maintaining a client’s (YoungSoles London - https://www.youngsoles.london) online store, and also some other clients’ websites projects.

1. Lead developer while at Centuria Limited, on one of the company main products (Sentinel System, https://centuria.co.ke/sentinel ), which is a software for managing security and access to facilities. When I joined the company, working with the rest of the team, we migrated the system from the earlier Vaadin Framework to the current Play (Java) Framework and React and Semantic UI on the frontend. I was also the lead mobile app developer for the main mobile application for the system (Sentinel) using React Native. And afterwards another mobile app accompaniment for the system (Sentinel Tenant). Core development team member on the other main company product at Centuria Limited i.e SmartKodi; https://www.smartkodi.co.ke. SmartKodi is a software for managing properties. We developed the product with the Play (Scala) Framework with React and SemanticUI/Material UI on the frontend. With this product, I also took an early lead on the development of one of the mobile apps (SmartKodi Tenant) for the system. 3. I subcontracted with Centuria Limited sister company, Platform Technologies, to work as a lead developer on Somalia Missions and Learning Project (SMLP) for the USAID under International Business & Technical Consultants, Inc. (IBTCI), http://www.ibtci.com . It is a software used by USAID to monitor their activities in Somalia. The system is deployed to production, and currently in active use. Again, I subcontracted with Centuria Limited sister company, Platform Technologies, to work as a lead developer on a healthcare system for an NGO from South Africa; https://myprep.co.za . I also developed one of the mobile apps for the system (developed with React Native - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iims ), and a desktop application for the system (built with java, with JavaFX, and React for the webview, and embedded jetty server to serve the webview).
