About me
For the last 8 years, I've created (designed/produced), written and managed implementation for integrated marketing and communications campaigns across 10 countries for agencies, including Grey Worldwide and Leo Burnett. My experience includes a wide array of responsibilities, from leading development of digital properties for brands like Philip Morris to building creative on- ground activation campaigns including live theatre and contests for brands. I’ve brought award-winning advertising to market for top brands in multiple sectors including telecommunications, fast food, fast-moving (FMCG), policy and development. As a copywriter, I know that clear, concise, killer copy is an end product derived from a “big idea” that encompasses strategy, research and a deep understanding of the psychology, desires and goals of our customers. Personally, I think all communications, whether digital, or in-person,
are a way of establishing a meaningful, on going conversation with people. And that sometimes, despite the abundance of big data, gut instincts
are the way to go!
Though I began my career as a copywriter, I’ve been quickly promoted to greater responsibility and have now served as a creative director and manager of large teams. My work is now cross functional,
as I have served as primary contact for clients; developed complete business and marketing strategies, and motivated & driven my teams towards products which exceed expectations, budgets and timelines.
When given the ability to manage creative teams toward goals, my impact has been clear. I’m most proud of helping QUBEE reach the no.1 position in Bangladesh and in the South Asian region via integrated marketing campaigns which included digital branding and in-person communication. We reached over 1 million fans on our Facebook page
in less than 3 months and the numbers just keep growing. User acquisition and retention remains at about 80% till date. In addition to more traditional agency work, I’ve managed and launched the branding for two social impact start-ups.
First, Made in Bangladesh, a vertically integrated product line of sustainably sourced, locally produced, high design, mobile device accessories. Second, I worked with International Development Enterprise, to launch inCompass,
their in-house human-centric design innovation lab.
Having worked, lived and played my way through Asia, I believe I have an innate understanding of most of the region’s sensitivities; I’ve seen and experienced, first-hand, how the slightest change in tone of voice or wording can impact an entire nation and change the way people behave, either for the better or for the worse. At the same time, having studied in international schools, working with people from a multitude of backgrounds and countries and being raised in a Russian home, I believe my experiences have bagged the best of both Western and Eastern cultures. I also have a keen eye for spotting trends before they popularly surface and always have my eyes and ears open to new ideas & new experiences.
