- set up, adjust and operate the surveying equipment like topcon GPS ,dumpy level, total station - measure, record and calculate data based on readings from those instruments. - lie out and recover markings, stakes and other such signifiers at work locations - Help create drawings using AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D and computer images of the locations assigned to by the chief surveyor .-They may also assist in directing other members of surveying teams. - work closely with the earthwork team and supritendant in allocating spots of cut and fill as per design

- Undertaking a variety of civil engineering related functions in conjunction with Councils training program, including surveying, setout, CAD design, asset data collection, assisting Councils design section and other projects as directed by the Chief Engineer - To learn the processes and techniques associated with construction and maintenance activities and their engineering underpinnings in Local Government - Attending and following instructions in all on the job training and employment. - Submitting timely, relevant and well prepared reports as requested by the Manager, Director or General Manager. - Assessing and improving work practices and procedures on a continuous basis to achieve strategic goals. -Contributing to improved organisational effectiveness by acting ethically, honestly and with fairness. - Demonstrating commitment to identifying and following organisations values, policies and procedures. - Providing customer service to the community including answering enquiries from the public and reporting issues for further action. - Identifying and reporting problems in and around the workplace to ensure they are promptly addressed. -Cooperating with supervisor/manager to ensure that safety, quality and environmental protection requirements are met.
