Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Anna Timokhovitch, I am a 33 year old native English and Russian speaker (Native English accent, NOT Russian when speaking English), who moved back to Moscow last year. I was born in Moscow and raised in Southern Africa (from the age of 3). My dual citizenship allows me to live and work in both countries.
I have an Honours B.A in TESOL (UNISA) and I am TEFL qualified (tefl.com). I have been teaching English for over 7 years. I started off teaching online through Skype at my online school, easily having done over 7 000 lessons. We at any point had 12 teachers who taught English, French, German and Italian to hundreds of students.
At the beginning of the year I chose to close the school down because all my time and attention is now dedicated to teaching privately.
At any point I have taught up to 30 separate students of different ages and levels. I have experience teaching toddlers, students from beginner to advanced level, Business and Conversational English, IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge exams, preparing people for job interviews, etc.
Since February 2015 I have been working with VIP families in Moscow.
At the moment one of the families is of a Russian Minister, where I teach two children now 4 and 6 and the parents (preschool, Cambridge level 1,2, Intermediate and Advanced levels). Last year I prepared the 2 children for attendance at the Cambridge school in Skolkovo.
I was requested to work in English and Russian with both boys, gradually speaking less and less Russian.
I work with the children for 7 hours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 4 hours on Thursdays. My duties include supervising the children’s meals, accompanying them on trips and daily activities, picking them up from school with the driver.
With the younger boy we have finished with the Get Ready textbook and are currently busy with Jolly Phonics and the Spotlight series. He speaks basic English and can write his name, the alphabet and basic words.
Last year I helped the older boy with his Cambridge Year 1 homework and studies. This year they are preparing him for attendance at a private mathematics school, we have all the Cambridge Year 2 textbooks and I am homeschooling him with their curriculum. We do: Global English (including Grammar, Spelling) Geography, Math, Science.
I can plan individual lessons catering to the needs of students of any age and any level. With the little ones we will be singing, dancing, playing esl games, doing role-plays, playing educational games on the tablet, developing their motor skills, reading, learning to write and laughing the whole way through it. English should be fun and not seen as a boring chore to do. With the older children I can help with homework and develop their language skills through cartoons and songs, role-plays, reading books. Also, through using a communicative approach that focuses primarily on getting the student to speak we will improve conversational skills and make your child confident to speak in any given situation. Perhaps the parents too want to brush up on their conversation, or prepare for the IELTS exam.
I love teaching, little and big people. I’m very organized and punctual, easy-going, energetic, communicative and passionate about the English language. I believe in making learning fun with lots of interesting activities and a ton of laughter!
Let me show you what I can do.
