Warm-up (5-7 min) “What’s your name” www.tertulia.ru 1) Greetings (3 min) - Hello, everyone! How are you today? Glad to see you all! What do we say when we meet someone and we’re glad to see each other? We say Hello. Let’s say Hello to each other and sing! Play the “Hello” song video (www.tertulia.ru), do the actions together with the children. - This week we are learning about different handicrafts. What is a handicraft? Let the children answer and help them if needed. - Handicraft is when you make something with your hands. What can we make with our hands? Let the children answer. Possible answers are – we can make toys, clothes, plates, cups, pots, blankets, quilts. 2) Group activity/game (icebreaker) (3 min) - Let’s revise what we can do with our hands. Let’s show each other examples and do some actions. The other people need to guess what this action is. Choose one person to show with actions how to sew, work with clay and make a pot, how to ride a horse. The other children need to guess what it is. Give hints to the children. Then another person shows an action. 2. PSHE (Staying healthy and getting fit) (20-25 min) - Do you remember what we talked about this week? Let the children answer. - For example, we talked about dollhouses. We visited the doll. Show the children a doll or an image of a doll. - Do you remember what rooms there are in her house? Show the children the dollhouse image and revise rooms. - The doll also has a friend. Who is it? Turn on the meowing sound effect and let the children guess who that is. - Yes, it’s a cat! The doll has a cat. The cat likes to play and sometimes it hides somewhere in the house. The doll can’t find it then. Let’s help the doll find the cat. You will need to say which room the cat is in. ● Print out the image of a house with four rooms and put it on the board. Print out the image of a cat and put it into a room in the house. To make it easier you can glue the cat image to a sticky note or just use tape to be able to stick it several times. ● Have the children turn their backs from the board, and while they can’t see it, put the cat in a room. Then tell them to turn around and say where the cat is. “Where is the cat?”, the children need to say which room the cat is in. Then tell them to turn again and put the cat in a different room, repeat the activity. You can adjust the size of the cat to make the game harder or easier. - Let’s feed the cat. What do you think the cat likes to eat? Let the children answer. - The cat likes to eat fish. We can give some fish to the cat. We can move the fish forward if we answer some questions correctly. ● Show examples as you speak. There should be a race track with a starting line and a finish line on the board or the floor; and small fish for the children that they are going to move along the race track. Prepare all of that in advance, you can ask the assistant for help. ● Ask the children questions (Target Vocabulary) like: "What's this? What vegetable is red and round? How many chairs are there in the classroom?" or draw items on the board, mime some animals or actions so that they guess what it is. You can play as one group or split the children into small groups/teams if there are a lot of people present. ● If a child answers correctly, he or she can move his/her fish forward. If you play in teams, the team that answers correctly can move their fish forward. ● Use the vocabulary on the topics house, horses, pottery, shapes (you can also include patchwork and sewing). - Remember when we helped the king clean up his palace? The doll also needs help with it. Let’s see what we can find in her house. We will need to walk around and name the items. But be careful, there is a card that says “Bang”. If you pick this card, you need to do some action - for example, hop on one foot, touch your toes, and so on. ● Put flashcards face down on the floor in a circle. Also add a few cards that say "BANG!". Prepare them in advance, ask the assistant for help. ● The children need to walk around the cards while music is playing. When it stops, each child needs to pick up the card that is closest to him/her. The children name the words they have. The child or children who have the “Bang” card need to do an action. - The doll’s cat is very active and likes to play active games. The cat wants to play with us. We need to pass a ball to each other and then hit the target with it. ● Place images on the board or the wall. Have the children line up one behind the other. The children stand with some space between them and throw a ball to each other. The last person needs to hit the word you name with the ball (throw it to the correct image). Then that child goes to the back of the line. ● If there are a lot of children present you can play in groups/teams. ● Display slide 1 on the interactive board, click the "view" button, select the "full screen" mode and play the game with the children. ● Ask the children what they can see on the board. ● Choose one child and tell him/her to stand with his/her back turned to the board. The other children need to point to the cube and depict the picture they see, for example to show how they brush their teeth. If the child guesses the picture and names it he/she can continue the game. If his answer is not correct the other child needs to take his/her place. ● To play the game twice, close it and do not save the changes. Open the file again and start playing. 3. Action break (5 min) - We also need to be active like the doll’s cat. And we need to take breaks. Let’s stand up and move a little! Action Race Use actions like jump, hop, clap, run, etc. Have the children split into two teams and sit in lines with a chair by each team and one chair at the other end of the room. One child from each team stands next to their chair and the teacher names an action, e.g. "Jump". The children must jump to the chair on the other side of the room and back. The children say "I can jump". The first one to do it gets their team a point. 4. Art and Craft (20 min) - This week they learned about pottery. Pottery is making things from clay. What can we make from clay? Let the children name some things made of clay and try to elicit the answer “pot” or “flower pot”. - Let’s make our own flower pots! Make it beforehand to show it to the children or show them a picture of a pot (attachment). For this craft you will need: ● Colored bond paper (1 set of various colors for each child) ● A glue stick (1 for each child) ● Scissors (1 for each child) ● A pencil (1 for each child)
