Teaching finance courses

Conduct GIPS Verification Services, and help clients to become GIPS compliant through rendering consulting services in all aspects of the process of becoming GIPS compliant. Meet with prospective clients, develop policies, manuals, and numerous spreadsheets for existing clients in order to facilitate client's transition to GIPS-compliance.

Taught finance courses on the CFA program

- Accounting Information Systems (with emphasis on business process, related internal controls and flowcharting, with introduction to XBRL) - Operations management (on line class) - Developed and co-teach Fraud Examination class (with emphasis on valuation techniques that may be used in applying fair value accounting (SFAS 157) - Fundamentals of Financial Management (introduction into corporate finance, covering financial statements, time value of money, cost of capital, and capital budgeting techniques)

Developed support material and singlehandedly taught CFA level I course. Achieved pass rate of 50% on level I CFA test for my students.

- Survey of Financial Accounting (developed and delivered through the use of my own handouts, covering intermediate financial accounting topics, like issues in accounting for leases, cash flow statement, percentage of completion vs. completed contract, fixed assets capitalization and depreciation, inventories, etc.) - Equity portfolio management (covering valuation of equities and portfolio management techniques, based on modern portfolio theory, etc.) - Principles of Microeconomics (covering basic macroeconomics, supply and demand, elasticity, externalities, deviations from the equilibrium price, monopoly, perfect competition, oligopoly, and monopolistic competition, etc.) - Principle of Macroeconomics (covering basic macroeconomics, aggregate supply and demand, GDP, CPI, fiscal and monetary policy, international trade and balance of payments, etc.) - Quantitative Methods I (sampling techniques, measures of central tendency and dispersion, hypothesis testing and confidence intervals, etc) - Quantitative Methods II (hypothesis testing, non parametric techniques, regression analysis, ANOVA, etc.) - Fundamentals of Financial Management (introduction into corporate finance, covering financial statements, time value of money, cost of capital, and capital budgeting techniques)

Concentration - Financial Risk Management

Good overall background in banking, fixed income, and derivatives (including accounting for derivatives). As a Bank Examiner my duties were accessing financial condition of banks of different size, based on CAMELS methodology: Capital Adequacy, Assets Quality, Management Competency, Earnings Capacity, Adequate Liquidity, and Sensitivity to the market Risk. Substantial part of my duties was to assist in analyzing capital market activities of big banks, chartered in Alabama (up to 40 billion in assets and above). I participated on number joint examination with Federal Reserve and FDIC examiners, and I am well familiar with risk-based examination framework, used on such assignments. I was also exposed to Basel II risk based capital requirements. I completed FDIC bank analysis schools I and II.
